Position Overview
The Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented student to support general administrative tasks and assist in the maintenance and coordination of KGS state vehicles. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day operations of a vital research organization.
This student position has flexible hours, 10-15 hours per week, during business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday). This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform light physical tasks related to vehicle upkeep with or without reasonable accommodation. A valid driver's license is required.

Job Description
95% - State Vehicle Upkeep Assistance
- Drop off and pick up vehicles for maintenance.
- Take vehicles through car wash, vacuum and light clean interiors.
- Refuel vehicles as needed.
- Assist in the check-in/check-out process for vehicle keys.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and scanning documents.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience requiring basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience with vehicle maintenance, as evidenced by application materials.
- Professional experience with data entry, as evidenced by application materials.
- Professional experience requiring the use of Microsoft Excel, as evidenced by application materials.
