Student Hourly- Design Print Lab Monitor
Position Overview
Serves as a support person in the Print Lab in Chalmers Hall. Monitors and distributes student print jobs, restocks supplies, assists students, cleans and maintains a professional work environment.
Job Description
- 50%- Assist students in calculating cost of print jobs based on size and type of print; add funds to their BeakEm Bucks to pay for print jobs; answer non-technical questions
- 20%- Manage paper, toner, ink in printers; alert staff to low stock conditions
- 20%- Maintain and clean computer labs as needed
- 10%- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of desktop software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems.
- Able to work evenings/weekends.
- Experience with printing, scanning, and basic algebra.
- Ability to work scheduled times reliably.
Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly position and a salaried graduate position (GRA/GTA/GA) concurrently.
