Student Hourly, Digital Publishing & Repository Support
Job Description

Under the supervision of the Digital Publishing & Repository Manager, student will be assisting with digital projects. Student assists in adding scholarly works to KU ScholarWorks, KU's online digital repository. Student may also assist with digital photography, image scanning and metadata creation. Student assistant may be called upon to assist other library staff with additional creation of digital resources. Assistant must be able to pay attention to detail, learn new technologies quickly, and be able to work independently once they have been given a task, asking questions as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Current KU student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours.
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail as demonstrated in the application material.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production-oriented environment.
- Experience with and knowledge of with digital photography or scanning.
- Ability to assess and learn new technology without formal training.
- Experience with digital imaging and metadata creation.
- Experience working in a digital laboratory environment.
- Experience in handling and preserving fragile, oversized, or unwieldy materials.
- Experience working with the following software applications:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word

Advertised Salary Range
11.50
Work Schedule
10 - 20 hours per week worked Monday-Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
