Student Hourly POOL: Life Drawing Model
Position Overview
Modeling for art studio classes and individual artists is a time-honored profession providing employment to practitioners in art schools and urban centers throughout the U.S.A. and the world. Work as a fine arts model requires some degree of stamina and flexibility as well as a respect for the classroom and the importance and discipline of drawing. These models will frequently model in the nude for figure painting & drawing classes.
Job Description
- The ability to construct interesting poses from a variety of views.
- To hold long poses if given regular breaks.
- To string very short poses together for quick gestural drawings.
- To be comfortable with a large variety of poses.
- The willingness to work with the professor in class to provide special environments or costumes.
Required Qualifications
All required qualifications will be measured by your application materials.
- Ability to hold poses for extended periods of time.
- Stamina and flexibility.
- Respect for the classroom and the importance and discipline of drawing the human form.
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Dependable & punctual.
- Previous nude modeling experience.
