Student Hourly Research Assistant
Position Overview
Professor Hong Vu is looking for a highly motivated student interested in assisting with data collection and analysis. This is a 19-hour per week position running from October 1, 2023, to May 20, 2024, with possible extension.
Job Description
50% - Collect data relevant to research topic
30% - Clean data for use in research findings
20% - Review literature relevant to research topic
30% - Clean data for use in research findings

Required Qualifications
- Experience in data collection, as evidenced in application materials.
- Knowledge of communication theories, as evidenced in application materials.
- Experience working with databases; doing content analysis and interviewing participants, as evidenced in application materials.
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly).
Preferred Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze qualitative & quantitative data is a plus.
