Student Hourly – Social Media Strategy Assistant
Position Overview
Work with CEAE’s Outreach & Communication Coordinator to develop our social media strategy. Create and publish content across multiple social media channels. Participate in social listening and contribute in CEAE community conversations. Source user-generated content, review social analytics and contribute ideas towards strategic and creative initiatives. Explore and research emerging social trends for use in a higher education space.
Job Description
50% Assist with developing and executing our overall social media strategy including managing our social media platforms.
20% Assist with the creation of newsletter/print materials.
20% Gathering social media analytics.
10% Attending relevant campus events to capture live content.

Required Qualifications
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must:
- have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or
- be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or
- be enrolled in summer session or
- be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be for undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
- Coursework or work experience that illustrates strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently.
- Writing and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-time enrollment in a CEAE major.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and data collection.
- A team player with self-initiative, strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Experience managing social media content for other brands or organizations.
- Understanding of brand identity and voice.
- Experience with visual content creation, such as photography, videography or basic graphic design.

Work Schedule
Flexible schedule between 5-10 hours weekly. Not to exceed 20 hours weekly.
