Student Hourly - Tutor
Position Overview
This is a part-time position to provide tutoring services to Self Engineering Leadership Fellows for specific courses. Courses with tutoring needs include: CHEM 170, MATH 127, EECS 461, CE 461, CHEM 525 and CE 570. Applicants may provide tutoring for one or more of the courses specified.
Job Description
70% Tutoring student(s) one-on-one.
20% Preparing for topics student(s) have requested tutoring support on.
10% Communication and coordination with student(s).
20% Preparing for topics student(s) have requested tutoring support on.
10% Communication and coordination with student(s).
Required Qualifications
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must:
- have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or
- be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or
- be enrolled in summer session or
- be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be for undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
- Academic competency: The tutor must have scored a B or higher in the particular course, or a higher level course in the same discipline to be eligible to tutor the course.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience tutoring engineering students.
