Research Assistant-Student Hourly


Position Overview

A great opportunity to closely work with graduate students on groundbreaking research in geotechnical engineering focusing on pavement applications in one of the major geotechnical labs in the nation. The research is novel and will contribute to long-lasting hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavements using geosynthetics as interlays so it will be excellent experience to be included on your resume. The assistants may also work on other research dealing with capillary or moisture reduction using geosynthetics.

Job Description

100% lab work involves preparing and testing of pavement sections in a large test box.

Required Qualifications

1. Able to lift between 35-40 pounds without injury.

**During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies needs be undergraduate.

Preferred Qualifications

Civil Engineering/Geology/Mechanical related major
