Student Office Assistant
Job Description
Student office assistant duties include assisting faculty and staff, clerical and receptionist tasks; including, filing, data entry, copying, scanning, drafting and editing documents, answering phones and assisting visitors to the office. Other duties may include assisting with the departmental website, scheduling appointment, running on-campus errands and other duties as assigned. Office assistants normally work 10-15 hours per week.
Successful candidates will have strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as being self-motivated, reliable, and able to work diligently.
This position requires a self-starter who can multi-task, think creatively, learn quickly, solve problems, see tasks through from beginning to end, and use of discretion in handling confidential information
Student hourly positions working for the AE department will have GPA reviews at the end of each semester. If the KU GPA drops below 3.0, the position can be terminated.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum KU GPA of 3.0
- Proficient in MS Office as evidenced by application materials
- KU Student must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours each semester during the academic year. Enrollment of one (1) hour during the summer session is required if the student was not enrolled in the previous spring or is not pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall term.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum KU GPA of 3.25
- Prior office experience
- Proficient in Adobe DC
- Prior customer service experience
- Web design, Drupal, or HTML experience
- Non-engineering student
- Federal Work Study student
